our lil' family: 2010

snow ball fight

we had some beautiful snow in east tennessee. we took full advantage of it too! we layered up the baby girl and headed outside to play.

the boys instantly started throwing snowballs at each other and horsing around. fun to watch :)

we attempted a snowman, used each other as shields, took some pretty pictures, and aubree even ate the snow!

funny story

visiting Biltmore is something i've wanted to do for several years.

so while we were in Kingsport, which is only about an hour away from Asheville i said, lets go to Biltmore! i did not know there was going to be a blizzard! in spite of the snow i insisted we still try to go, after all we had already bought our tickets and they were non refundable.

we made it about half way there and as we went a little further the roads became worse and worse. all of a sudden we were the ONLY car on the highway. wow, how scary! i suddenly lost all my bravery and wanted a place to turn around and get back home!

we finally found a ramp and turned around. all the pictures i have of that trip was all four of us in the car and some pretty snow shots from the back seat of our jeep :/

the good news is we called Biltmore and we were able get our tickets moved to a different time.

the snow was beautiful in the mountains. Asheville got about 10 inches total.

next time.....

we will stay home!

christmas with the hall's

after breakfast with my family we headed over to bryan's papaw's house. if you want a delicious where everything is made from scratch, this is the place to go! these women are some of the best cooks i've ever seen. marti made a chocolate cheesecake, all from scratch! so good it'd make you wanna slap your mama!

when we left poppa's we went over to our dad's house to open gifts..

aubree has stolen her papaw's heart. they are so sweet to watch together, even though they wrestle like two boys. she holds her own with him. she pulls his ears and socks him in the nose. she says PAPAW FIGHT!

this is our uncle ted and aunt susie. they are so good to us and the love aubree. they stopped by for a few minutes to exchange gifts.

we love them very very much :)

we are so blessed to have such an amazing family and love each other the way we do.

this was an awesome Christmas and we're so thankful!

We woke up at 6 am christmas morning for a big breakfast! we had about 12 people over including my grandmother, cousins, and some close family friends. we made biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, streusel cake, and fruit! yummy!

we filled up our bellies and opened gifts!

my step~dad always "tricked" me with at least one present when i was a kid. so i decided to give it back. we got him a best buy gift card but i hid it inside a pizza box covered in cheese balls. it was HILARIOUS!
